Sidney boasts many attraction and amenities including a scenic 3.6 kilometrewaterfront walkway, a historical museum, the Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea Aquarium, enchanting street statues and murals, Mineral World, a 420 ft. The Parks Department is responsible for the maintenance of 24 parks in the Town, as well as 16 beach accesses, the Sidney Waterfront Walkway, park trails, and many neighbourhood pedestrian paths.

The beautiful flower planters and hanging baskets that adorn Sidney streets and sidewalks are also tended to by our Parks Staff.  In addition, the Parks Department enforces Sidney's Tree Preservation Bylaw and makes recommendations on boulevard trees and trees on private property. All parks, trails and beach accesses are identified on the Parks Map.

The Parks Department also assists in the coordination of special events in Town parks.  If you are interested in holding a public or private event in one of our parks, please complete an application form and forward it to the Engineering Department.  Depending on the type of event and location, there may be an application fee and damage deposit.  Please consult the Parks Use Policy for more information.
